Many states are passing legislation on tracking sexual assault kits. While efforts vary greatly between states and remain generally unfunded, it is beginning to give jurisdictions some direction.

Summary of Sexual Assault Legislation in the United States
~ Alabama, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Nebraska, and South Carolina —have not addressed SAK testing through legislation., although some have done a 1-time audit.
